Fri 22nd December       Crash Course

Update:  Mick Reid of Crash Course (and later Nightmares in Wax) has been in touch to set the record straight on the line-up of Crash Course. Thanks Mick.

Crash Course Mk 1, December 1977 - August 1978
Andy Eastwood - vocals
Mick Reid - guitar/vocals
Steve Gaskill - bass
Rob Jones - drums

Crash Course Mk 2. August 1978 - January 1979
Andy Eastwood - vocals
Mick Reid - lead guitar/vocals
Pete Wylie - rhythm guitar/vocals
Paul Cunningham - bass
Rob Jones - drums

A professional live recording of Crash Course at Eric's was made at this gig, intended for release on the Eric's label (following the Pink Military EP mentioned above).  The record didn't appear and the tape is lost.  Crash Course recorded three tracks at Open Eye - Someone Different, Tears of a Clown (yes, the Smokey Robinson song) and Look Now.  All Crash Course material was written by Rob Jones and Mick Reid.

After Crash Course disbanded in January 1979 Mick joined the Glass Torpedoes with Paul Cunningham.  This explains why two Crash Course songs appeared on the Torpedoes EP in mid 1979.  By the time the record was released Mick had been head hunted by Pete Burns for Nightmares in Wax.

Pete Wylie and Rob Jones went on to Wah! Heat.
