Thursday 15th February
Pink Military Stand Alone played at The Factory, Manchester, supported by the Dead Trout, it was billed as a Charity Concert. Reader, I was that Trout. Well, a small part of it - but at the Factory that night I did my bit. I was the Controller. It was my second performance as a Dead Trout. It was Peter Alan Lloyd's first gig with Pink Military. His account in Bombed Out is well worth reading. Eric's sent Pink Military and Dead Trout to Manchester - in return, the next night the Factory sent Joy Division to Liverpool.

Above: according to Julian Cope this was the Teardrop's third public appearance, on Granada's What's On slot. The gig supporting Wire would have been their fourth public appearance as a band.
